The Beatz Awards 2019: Don Jazzy to reward the renamed category ‘Don Jazzy New Discovery Producer’
THE BEATZ AWARDS TM 2019 celebrated the 5th Edition of the awards on Sunday, November 24, 2019, at the Shell Hall, Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos, gathering top music professionals from around the country to the elegant awards night.
Dr Sid, a prominent artist, hosted the awards, and the audience was wowed by incredible performances by Johnny Drille and top comedians Emmaohmagod, Deeone, and Omobaba.
THE BEATZ AWARDSTM is created to celebrate the creative minds behind music production, business and distribution, which is the first of its kind in Nigeria and Africa at large.
The presentation of the LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD to DON JAZZY was one of the show’s highlights. For his contributions to the music industry, the iconic producer was honored by having an award category named after him. The category of New Discovery Producer will henceforth be known as the ‘Don Jazzy New Discovery Producer.’ Don Jazzy, in keeping with his humble and kind personality, introduced a twist to the category by introducing a N1 million cash prize for the winner starting next year.

Music producer Kel P vibrations, who took home three trophies on the night, was one of the night’s top winners, closely followed by Johnny Drille.
